GILSON

DETECTORS

Detection solutions that are ideal for analytical, semi-preparative, and preparative HPLC applications

Purify with confidence

Gilson offers a complete line of HPLC detection solutions that are ideal for analytical, semi-preparative, and preparative HPLC applications.  Driven by the powerful and flexible TRILUTION LC software, Gilson’s modular detectors provide greater selectivity and control of your purification.

Versatile purification with UV-Vis detection

The ability to scan multiple different wavelengths simultaneously provides the detection specificity required for a wide array of purification applications.

Increase the scope of your discovery with mass spec

Save valuable time and maximise productivity with MS detection. Combined with various Gilson purification systems, MS detection selectively purifies active ingredients from small to large molecules and natural products from lab- to pilot-scale.

Expand your capabilities with ELS detection

Evaporative Light-Scattering detection is not dependent on UV absorbance and can detect compounds or impurities even if they do not contain chromophores, making it an ideal complementary detector to a UV-based purification system.

VERITY® 1741 UV-VIS Detector

UV-VIS diode array detection

The VERITY 1741 UV-VIS Detector is a powerful and versatile addition to Gilson’s VERITY® preparative HPLC systems that allow safe compound purification.  Explicitly designed for semi-preparative to preparative purification, the reliable and versatile VERITY 1741 Detector is coupled with the power of multiple-wavelength scanning detection for more significant information and data gathering at a lower cost of ownership.

The VERITY 1741 Detector offers flow cell pathlengths ranging from 0.05 – 1.3 mm with a compatible flow rate of up to 500 mL/min and a large scanning range of 200-800 nm that lets you quickly evaluate fractions impurities.

Gilson’s TRILUTION LC Software for purification fully controls the VERITY 1741 Detector to monitor up to eight different wavelengths to trigger fraction collection and display real-time spectra.

The VERITY 1741 Detector features easy-to-replace flow cells and long-life lamps, decreasing the detector’s downtime and saving you money.  It also offers a built-in counter for monitoring lamp life, helping you avoid purification interruptions. Gilson’s long-standing UV-VIS detector service and parts experience provides you with a lower cost of ownership.

VERITY 1920 Mass Spectrometer

VERITY® 1920 Mass Spectrometer

Mass detection

The single quad VERITY® 1920 Mass Spectrometer is ideal for laboratories seeking effective MS detection to isolate pure compounds.  The versatile VERITY 1920 MS can utilise electrospray ionisation (ESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) ion sources, providing application flexibility.  When combined with Gilson’s uniquely versatile and powerful VERITY compact or modular Preparative HPLC systems, the VERITY 1920 MS brings greater selectivity from lab- to pilot-scale purification while making mass detection affordable and straightforward for any purification work.

With the VERITY 1920 MS, you’ll save valuable time and maximise productivity as targeted fraction collection reduces post purification work and purity analysis.  The detector also improves collection selectivity when the chromatographic resolution is limited from highly concentrated or complex samples, making it the perfect companion for centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) purifications.

With a mass range of 10 – 2000 m/z, the VERITY 1920 MS helps you detect large molecules such as peptides and small proteins easily.  Many biomolecules carry multiple charges with electrospray ionisation so that even proteins of several tens of kDa can be measured with the 2,000 m/z range.

VERITY® 1601 ELS Detector

Evaporative light-scattering (ELS) detection

ELS Detection is a nearly universal and powerful detection mode for liquid chromatography that is commonly used as a complementary option to UV-Vis detection when analytes do not possess any chromophore.  With the use of Conditional Logic Fraction Collection in TRILUTION® LC and GLIDER Software, the VERITY 1601 ELSD can ensure pure fractions by detecting and separating impurities that are not seen by other detection methods.

VERITY 1601 ELSD expands your capabilities and secures your purification:

  • Detect any analytes with and without chromophore groups that are less volatile than the eluent
  • Compatible with LC gradient solvent system
  • Compatible with most LC solvents whatever their absorption characteristics
  • Provide a very stable baseline that improves the fraction collection triggering
  • Low-temperature evaporation allows detection of semi-volatile or thermally labile compounds
  • The nebulisation chamber has been specially designed to work with highly concentrated eluents frequent in preparative separations by HPLC or Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC)
