Sepax’s base-bead resin technology spans three platforms: Silica, PS/DVB and PMA, with well-controlled particle sizes ranging 1.7 – 100 µm and pore sizes from non-porous to 2000 Å. On the base beads, a broad spectrum of innovative surface modifications has been developed to meet the ever-advancing customer needs for chromatography analyses and separations.

Surface technologies

Sepax has developed a broad scope of unique chemical processes for synthesising monomeric and polymeric thin films on both flat and particle surfaces. Our unique processes allow us to make neutral, cationic or anionic coatings with a controlled, uniform thickness from a few nanometers to more than 100 nm on internal or open surface.

Column packing technologies

With over decades of extensive column packing experience, Sepax has developed technologies for packing a variety of LC columns, including micro (75 µm – 1.0 mm), analytical (2.1 – 7.8 mm), semi-prep and preparative (10, 21.2, 30 & 50 mm), and industrial-scale columns (50 – 800 mm).  Sepax also packs FPLC columns (6.6 – 300 mm).

Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC)

Sepax’s HIC product family features the Proteomix HIC series, engineered for high-resolution and high-efficiency separations of proteins, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), oligonucleotides and peptides through hydrophobic interaction chromatography.

Leveraging proprietary surface technologies, Proteomix HIC-NP utilises non-porous polystyrene-divinylbenzene (PS/DVB) beads with a narrow particle size distribution to deliver consistent, high-performance separations ideal for biopharmaceutical and biomolecular analysis.

Ion Exchange (IEX) Chromatography

Sepax’s IEX product family have been developed using proprietary surface modification technologies on rigid, non-porous polystyrene-divinylbenzene (PS/DVB) beads.  These columns are available in 1.7 µm, 3 µm, 5 µm, and 10 µm particle sizes, and feature a nanometer-thick, hydrophilic and neutral polymer coating that eliminates non-specific binding and maximises recovery and resolution.

Proteomix IEX columns are designed to achieve high ion-exchange capacity and performance, even on non-porous resins, enabling efficient separations of proteins and biomolecules. 

Antibodix columns are optimised for antibody analysis, delivering high-resolution, high-efficiency separations with excellent recovery. 

Proteomix AAV SAX is tailored for gene therapy applications, supporting the separation and quantification of empty and full AAV capsids to ensure product quality and safety.

Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)

Sepax offers ten SEC product lines developed based on innovative surface coating and particle technologies comprised of uniform, hydrophilic and neutral nanometer-thick films chemically bonded on 1.8, 3, 5 or 10 µm high-purity and mechanically stabilised silica.

Utilising two unique surface coating technologies, stand-up & lay-down monolayers on porous silica; Sepax offers surface chemistry choices based on sample type and sample hydrophobicity in order to achieve high-resolution performance separation.

Affinity Chromatography

Affinity chromatography provides a specialised purification method for biomolecules.  The highly specific interactions between a biomolecule and its binding partner makes affinity chromatography exceptionally useful for achieving high selectivity and high resolution compared with other chromatographic methods.  Sepax offers a range of affinity chromatography columns and resins for antibodies, biotinylated molecules, polyA capture of oligonucleotides and HSA-drug interaction assessment.

Proteomix POR-SA is designed for high-speed analysis of biotinylated biomolecules under high-pressure conditions.

ProAqa Excel is based on Protein A affinity and is specifically designed for fast, accurate and robust titre determination and quantification of monoclonal antibodies during cell line selection, upstream bioprocess optimisation, and quality control.

Proteomix POR50-dT20 is PS/DVB based affinity resin and Monomix dT20 Affinity is MA based affinity resin.  Both are conjugated with oligo dT20-mer and are highly optimised for the isolation of mRNA with a poly A tail.

BioService Affinity HAS is an affinity resin conjugated with human serum albumin for binding interaction analysis of drugs and other biomolecules to HSA.

Reversed-Phase (RP) Chromatography

Sepax’s reversed phase (RP) chromatography portfolio comprises a comprehensive selection of columns to deliver versatile solutions for peptide mapping, protein separations and small molecule analysis.

Proteomix RP is based on porous, highly cross‑linked poly(styrene‑divinylbenzene) (PS/DVB) resins functionalised with phenyl and substituted phenyl ligands for robust hydrophobic interaction chromatography.

Bio Series columns employ monomeric, fully end‑capped bonding chemistry and large pore sizes (200 – 800 Å), optimised for high‑resolution separation of peptides and small proteins.

HP Series columns utilise high‑surface‑area silica with complete octadecylsilyl (ODS) bonding, delivering outstanding aqueous compatibility, chemical stability and high loading capacity for diverse analytes.

GP Series columns are manufactured using monomeric bonding chemistries with fine‑tuned hydrophobicity and high efficiency, ideal for separating acidic, neutral and basic compounds such as pharmaceuticals and organic acids.

BR‑C₁₈ incorporates specialised bonding chemistry for reliable operation over an extended pH range (1.5 – 10.5), accommodating a variety of reversed phase applications.
